Third Party Verified

A third-party verifies every project we work with to ensure that investments have quantifiable returns. Credits are also registered on the Atlas ledger system. Learn more below.

Aquatic Bio-credit Protocols

We work with project developers to create project specific aquatic bio-credit protocols that meet the highest quality international standards.

Third Party Verification

Each Project is verified by a third party to ensure we maintain our integrity. The third party verifies all documentation and data outlined by the protocol. This may include lease documents, spatial boundaries, proof of long term financial assurances, monitoring and maintenance plan.

Millpont Atlas

All project areas are geo-referenced and spatial data is uploaded onto the Atlas system. This serves as an additional third-party verification and ensures transparency, data security, and tracks environmental attribute claims.

Transaction Process

To purchase aquatic bio-credits, a corporation engages in a tailored contract directly with the project developer. This arrangement typically follows a milestone payment structure, ensuring the corporation receives all ecological benefits linked to the project. The process is fairly straightforward:

1. Initial Consultation

2. Project Selection

3. Contract Agreement

4. Milestone Payments

5. Ecological Benefits Delivered

6. Monitoring Reports and Verification

7. Ongoing Support and Engagement

Reporting

A buyer will have access to project specific monitoring reports that will be updated over the credit's lifespan.  These comprehensive reports offer ongoing insights into the project's environmental impact and progress. Key performance metrics covered in the reports include:

Biodiversity Improvements

Carbon sequestration

Nutrient reduction

Maintenance fund use will be included in the monitoring reports.

Monitoring, Maintenance, & the Trust Fund

Each project site establishes a baseline for monitoring progress over time. Performance metrics are provided and monitoring validates survival and determines whether corrective action(s) are needed to meet performance criteria.

To guarantee long-term sustainability, a maintenance trust fund is implemented, ensuring monitoring and maintenance continue throughout the project's lifecycle.
